Things depression and anxiety will tell you, if they’re allowed…
Depression will tell you that you are as invisible as you feel.
Depression will tell you that you aren’t good enough.
Depression will tell you that no one would miss you if you were gone.
Depression will tell you none of it is worth it.
Depression will tell you that if you disappear no one would even notice.
Depression will tell you that literally no one listens to a thing you say, so you shouldn’t bother.
Depression will tell you that this is it, so it isn’t even worth getting out of bed in the morning.
Anxiety will tell you that you’re a burden.
Anxiety will tell you that you’re annoying.
Anxiety will tell you no one actually likes you.
Anxiety will tell you that everything you say is stupid.
Anxiety will tell you that you’re an imposter and it’s only a matter of time before people realize you aren’t smart, you can’t write, you can’t art, etc.
They will both tell you that no one will love you for who you are, because who you are is broken and scarred and dark.
And all you can do to fight back is try not to let the voice of depression/anxiety become your own voice. Convince yourself that all those things are lies. Tell yourself you know better than all that…
They are all lies. You are better than your illness and disorders! 🙂
